Farmer Kim and The Feathery Ladies Continues!

It has been a while since I last worked on my 18x24 inch fabric book titled, Farmer Kim and The Feathery Ladies. It will be 15 pages total and now I have 12 complete. I look forward to binding the pages together and presenting the book to the people. :)

Chickens on Display at Delicious!

Life has been very eventful since I got back from Portland, Oregon. Right when I got home I had only a week to make art for a solo show at Delicious (3827 N. Lincoln Ave.), a vegetarian/vegan coffee shop in Chicago. For this show titled, Chicken Thoughts, I was interested in transforming my chicken cards into something much larger with more possibilities and it was really fun to do so.

The work will be up till the end of September. The art is on sale ranging from $10-$45. Send me an email if you are interested in a piece. kimguare@yahoo.com

A Day with Merry

I spent a lovely day with my dear friend, Merry. We visited the horse ranch that she volunteers at called The Ray Graham Association Hanson Center Barn.

I met this sweet lady while there. I named her Paddy. We later found out she was a backyard chicken who was given to the ranch because the family who owned her had trouble keeping their hens safe from predators. That explains Paddy's love of humans. She'd probably been cuddled since day one.

Hello!

Merry and her horses. So much love there.

Doing his hair!

His name was Strawberry Shortcake! hahahahaha

Paddy and I.

She's so soft and gentle.

I fell in love.

It's My Birthday!

My first piece of desert in 4 months!  I have truly kicked my sugar addiction for the first time ever!  I was so afraid that by eating this I'd be obsessed with sugar all over again but instead I felt satisfied and do not need more sweets for a while.  But it was a delicious (HUGE) piece of vegan coconut pie.

Thanks for all the love today, friends!
