Chickens on Display at Delicious!
Life has been very eventful since I got back from Portland, Oregon. Right when I got home I had only a week to make art for a solo show at Delicious (3827 N. Lincoln Ave.), a vegetarian/vegan coffee shop in Chicago. For this show titled, Chicken Thoughts, I was interested in transforming my chicken cards into something much larger with more possibilities and it was really fun to do so.
The work will be up till the end of September. The art is on sale ranging from $10-$45. Send me an email if you are interested in a piece. kimguare@yahoo.com

Portland, Oregon
-Gossip
I visited Portland, Oregon for 2 weeks. It was my first trip all on my own and it turned out to be more amazing than I had ever anticipated. I grew so much in 2 weeks.
-Spoon
I took Amtrak to Portland from Chicago because I hadn't been past Iowa and really wanted to see the landscape along the way. I was not disappointed!

Haim is my 2014 summer jam.
Kae and Eli got married! Here is the card I made them.
The happily married hen herself.
A cupcake chicken for my cousin, Erin!
The cupcake chicken got a lot of attention. I had a hard time trying to make a chicken just as good...

Homemade Dinner
Molly and I made a delicious meal tonight. I made mashed sweet potatoes with coconut milk, ginger and chives. I also made shredded brussel sprouts with kimchi. Molly made a delicious dish of caramelized fennel, garbanzo beans and dates served over cous cous. She also made a spinach (from her hoop house!), apple, avocado, sesame salad. Food is a beautiful thing.
Met a friend for tea at Beans and Bagels in Lincoln Square and left a chicken and abstract eggplant for someone to take home.

Chicken Card: Day 9
Dropped a furry chicken off at The Grind in Lincoln Square today.
Made a pizza with some of my spaghetti sauce I made from this past summer. Super delicious with spinach, sun dried tomato, onion and kalamata olive. Yum!
