Farmer Kim and The Feathery Ladies Continues!

It has been a while since I last worked on my 18x24 inch fabric book titled, Farmer Kim and The Feathery Ladies. It will be 15 pages total and now I have 12 complete. I look forward to binding the pages together and presenting the book to the people. :)

Craft Your Heart Out 4!

Craft night is going strong. I hosted my 4th one yesterday. I shared delicata squash, cider, cinnamon sugar apples, and pumpkin cookies with everyone while we crafted and conversed. It was wonderful!

Thiel, Kim, Annie, Naomi and Hope!

Hope made a chicken!

Kim made hand puppets!

Sarah and Desmond made art with tape, markers and chickens!

I finally made a chicken card for the first time in 6 weeks after being to busy with the show at Delicious.

Chickens on Display at Delicious!

Life has been very eventful since I got back from Portland, Oregon. Right when I got home I had only a week to make art for a solo show at Delicious (3827 N. Lincoln Ave.), a vegetarian/vegan coffee shop in Chicago. For this show titled, Chicken Thoughts, I was interested in transforming my chicken cards into something much larger with more possibilities and it was really fun to do so.

The work will be up till the end of September. The art is on sale ranging from $10-$45. Send me an email if you are interested in a piece. kimguare@yahoo.com

Shades of Eggs finds a home!

I made this piece last spring while at Wormfarm. During the early part of June I'd spend each evening watching the sun go down adding more string to metal. The kittens, Crook and Jem would sit with me and play games with one another and I'd take in the fresh earthy smells. I am so grateful for these memories.

Shades of Eggs, 8.75 x 5.25 inches, thread, metal, 2013

I am happy to say this piece has found itself a home with a lovely friend of mine. It sits above a piece from Project Onward that reminded my friend of her two chickens she once had, Winkie and Annie.

New Visions Gallery!

It would be an understatement to say this year has been a difficult one for me.  But I am happy to say that I have pulled myself up and I am stronger than ever!

29 Feet Per Square Meter will be on display at the New Visions Gallery for the 28th Annual Culture & Agriculture exhibit!

The show will be up from June 29 - August 29, 2014.
