Women's History Month!

My artwork will be on display at the Wrightwood Ashburn Chicago Public Library in March for Women's History Month.  The Chicago Public Library has chosen many different female artists to display their work throughout the Chicago Public libraries for the month of March.  I am very excited to be a part of this!

I will be giving an artist talk at the library on Monday, March 11 from 6pm to 7:30pm.

The address is 8530 S. Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, IL 60652.

Here is a new piece I made for the library exhibition titled Ovum.  It is 14 x 14 inches and made of felt and yarn.

Orange Marmalade for Grammy!

When I started canning back in June, I asked my Grammy what was her favorite jam and she said sweet orange marmalade.  Oranges are now in season so I bought my favorite oranges, an heirloom variety that are super sweet.

A marmalade is a jam made with citrus fruit.  I used the zest of the citrus and added a little vanilla.

Artist Trading Cards

I was recently in a show at the Roman Susan with Jennifer Hines, a chicago artist who has put out a call for art for artists to make trading cards.  The artist makes 9 cards and sends them to Jennifer and in return, Jennifer sends the artist cards from 9 different artists.

The deadline is February 1st.  Here is how to join in!

Blueberry Lavender Jam

For Breakfast, Jacob and I smothered some awesome vegan pancakes with Blueberry Lavender Jam I canned back in July.  I am so pleased that I canned all my jams correctly.  There hasn't been any frightening molds or funny smells when I open them up.  Yay to canning correctly!
