Craft Your Heart Out 4!

Craft night is going strong. I hosted my 4th one yesterday. I shared delicata squash, cider, cinnamon sugar apples, and pumpkin cookies with everyone while we crafted and conversed. It was wonderful!

Thiel, Kim, Annie, Naomi and Hope!

Hope made a chicken!

Kim made hand puppets!

Sarah and Desmond made art with tape, markers and chickens!

I finally made a chicken card for the first time in 6 weeks after being to busy with the show at Delicious.

Craft Your Heart Out 2

Craft Your Heart Out 2 was a great success! I am really loving them. I had the first one in June and I hope to continue having them once a month. They are a chance to create and be with great company. It's also helpful to make you do that little project you meant to continue 3 months ago...

At the July craft night there was fanny pack sewing, drawing, beading, coconut cracking and patching up of dresses.

Here I am drilling holes into a coconut to extract the coconut water.

Desiree brought coconuts to make coconut milk and coconut extract from an Alton Brown Coconut Cake Recipe. The extract has to ferment for 9 days. It's going to be delicious!

Jami continued a beaded necklace she'd been working on.  So cool!

I finally started back up on my chicken book titled Farmer Kim and the Feathery Ladies and sewed feathers onto a hen for page 11.

Another lovely night. See you in August? If you live in Chicago (or the surrounding area) and would like to join in, shoot me an email at kimguare@yahoo.com.

Craft Night #1

My first monthly Craft Your Heart Out was wonderful!

We came together and created, snacked, conversed and laughed.

Greer worked on little fabric earrings.

Molly sewed a watermelon onto a tshirt.

Miriam made little poms out of yarn for her kitties to play with.

Masani assembled found objects and collaged.  She had found the monarch and feather on her way to my place.

Alisha drew her good friend dead.

And I made a wall collage to decorate my bedroom.

I finished the night with a daily chicken expressing how I felt! And Greer left me a wee mushroom. My heart is full!

I will be having craft night once a month.  Join us next time!
